FOR THE KINGDOM
At the entrance of our church is a plaque that states:

Centuries ago, the Greek philosopher Archimedes said, "Give me a lever long enough, and a place to stand, and I can move the world."

The meaning of that plaque is that our church building is just our place to stand. From here, our people and ministries go out to move the world for Christ.

Dear Bear Valley Family
All of us pray that God will continue to use our church as powerfully as He does now, for decades to come.

Our community has a bright future, and we believe we are in the right location to be a vital part of it. Our own church demographics support a long term commitment to our current facility.

Your church leaders have developed a strategy for us to maximize our spiritual effectiveness. This plan also includes renovating part of our present facility.

To bring this vision to pass, everyone must unite and support our special capital campaign, For the Kingdom.

Join me in prayer as we seek God's will in how each of us can participate in this endeavor.

-Pastor Jim Walters

Elements of the Long Range Vision:
  • Establish methods that help believers be intentional about their spiritual progress.
  • Build an on-line "spiritual growth path" that lets learners assess and measure their own progress.
  • Upgrade and update small group and class ministries across every age group.
  • Install a state-of-the-art security system to provide stronger security for all children.
  • Offer pre-marriage, early-marriage and blended-family mentoring to all couples.
  • Equip parents with a variety of tools to use in discipling their own children.
  • Expand our highly successful multi-housing ministry to reach more lost and lonely people.
  • Continue to operte our long-term mission partnerships both locally and globally.

The first phase of our long range vision calls for us to commit to a major renovation of our church facility.

Our goal is to raise sufficient funds "over and above" regular giving, over a three year period, which will empower us to:
  • Add a second floor over the gym, creating 5000 square feet of additional ministry area, new classrooms, greeting and socializing areas, kitchenette/coffee bar, and welcome center - which will also relieve hallway congestion.
  • Re-confiure the lower hallways and add a welcome center downstairs that will provide state-of-the-art security for children of all ages.
  • Divide the lower gym area by a moveable, sound-resistant partition. This will create a large children's recreation area plus a new first-class reception hall. With the partition opened, the entire lower gym will still be useable for large banquets, as it is now.
  • Make many other improvements that will extend the life of our building.

Your Sacrificial Gift is Vital
How can you help?
  1. By giving from your own income sources - an "over and above" gift for three years. The total of this three year ift can be a significant contribution to this vision.
  2. By making a one-time sacrificial gift from existing resources, such as the sale of a vehicle, property, life insurance, or other assets. Appreciated securities can be transfered directly to Bear Valley for maximum tax savings (call the church for more info).
  3. By making a "faith promise" and trusting God to supply an amount that He impresses upon you. He will send this to you in some unexpected way, for this purpose.

Ask God to lead you
  • Stop and pray about this.
  • Pray some more, really listen to what God is saying to you.
  • Faithfully do whatever God says to do. Know that your gift - whatever the amount - will support and further our church's vision.
