College/Young Adult Pastor Intern
You would think I have a funny story behind the picture of myself here.
There might be, but all you really need to know is that I am in Nepal,
without most amenities we have in the States, and loving it. Foriegn
countries have a way of exposing real need and real joy. Experiences like
these help us to discover what is really important, and the adventure life
is intended to be. Giving of our time and talents for the benefit of those
around us brings true satisfaction. I had a poster when I was a kid that
said,
"Don't just float through life, make waves."
I became a Christian my senior year of college at the Colorado School of
Mines while involved a Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. I needed peace and
could not resist the healing power of God's love. The change he did in me
was drastic, as everyone in the fraternity could see. I graduated from
Mines in 2000, got a good engineering job and found it
unfullfilling. After some time of constantly struggling with God's call (I
can be quite stubborn), I finally relented and began my pursuit of a
Masters of Divinty degree at Denver Seminary. I began this last spring
shortly after my second trip to Asia and have loved it. Eventually I hope
to be an integral part of church leadership. I love helping plan and
prepare the body of Christ for success.
Step by step I am climbing the trail God has set before me. Here I Bear
Valley, I am heading up the college group. College is a unique time in our
lives. It is a tremendous time of growth, in ourselves, with our friends,
and with God. Growth is what I hope we are all striving for. I hope you
would come and be a part of the college group at BVC as we grow together.
