Pastoral Care Pastor
I was born in Minneapolis, MN in 1928 in a semi-Christian home. My mother wanted my
older brother and I to know the Bible so she went through it
several times and had us tell back to her what each chapter
said. She also had us memorize a verse from the Bible each
week. We had to recite it perfectly. Overall I memorized about
250 verses of Scripture.
Several years later when I was 19, I went to a
Youth For Christ rally and received Christ into
my life as Savior, and that same evening I
responded to the Holy Spirit's call for me to
become a pastor and preacher of the Gospel of
Christ. As a result I changed my studies at the
University of Minnesota from the School of
Chemistry to courses that were called
"pre-seminary" studies. I soon changed to a
Christian College (Augsburg College) in
Minneapolis and graduated in 1951 with a
BA degree in History and Philosophy. My
graduate studies were taken at Dallas
Theological Seminary where I earned the
degree of Master of Theology in 1955. I earned my doctor of ministry
in Pastoral Counseling in May, 1983 from California Graduate School of Theology.

Joyce & I were married in August 1955, and we continued to pastor The
Lakeview Chapel near Shreveport, LA. Other pastorates were in The Church or
The Open Door in Greenville, MS. and Spartanburg, SC; Berean Church in
Muskegon, MI and Seattle, WA. I came to Denver in 1981 to train to become
a counselor in Grace Fellowship Int. and became a member or their staff a
few months later. I was on their staff for fourteen years as a
counselor, conference speaker and one who helped train interns. I retired
from this good ministry at the end of 1993, but did more counseling with
the main office.
In 1994 I became a chaplain in the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center, and
retired from this ministry in August 2002. I became an adjunct professor in the School
of Professional Studies at Colorado Christian University teaching Bible Classes in the
evenings and later weekends during this time. To this date I am still on their staff.
Since August 2002 I became the part-time Care Pastor at Bear Valley Church. I am
thoroughly enjoying this avenue of service.
Joyce and I visited Bear Valley Church in 1995 and became members in May 1996. I
have taught Sunday School Classes, sung in the choir, preached, participated in a men's
prayer group and other activities.
