Connecting through Membership
|
|
What does it mean to become a member?
- 1) Becoming a member shows your connection to this community of believers at Bear Valley.
- 2) Some decisions are made through voting, which is limited to those who have signified their
commitment to the church through becoming members (must be 18 or older). Decisions involving voting include:
- - Selection of Deacons who manage the budget, hiring and physical aspects of
Bear Valley Church
- - Budget decisions
- - For any other positions and items that need a vote
- 3) Eligibility for the position of Deacon is limited to Members
What does it take to become a member?
- 1) That you are a Christian; meaning that you have understood and placed your
faith and trust in the fact that Jesus Christ died to pay the price of your sins,
and rose again. Through this act of your own belief, God has forgiven you of your sins!
- 2) That you want to follow Jesus Christ and have shown this through baptism by
immersion.
If you have not been baptized by immersion, the Pastors would love to help you do
this act. (For those being baptized, you automatically become a member of Bear Valley
unless you request not to be.)
What is expected of me if I become a member?
- 1) When you are in the area, come and fellowship at Bear Valley Church.
- 2) As God leads you, support Bear Valley with your time, talent and money.
- 3) Get connected with a Small Group or class group to grow in your faith.
- 4) Get involved in a ministry or mission. See the Missions & Outreach section
of this website for some ideas. There are unlimited numbers of ways to be led
and used by God, so don't let the list on this site limit you.
If you desire membership or have any questions, contact Gordon McNeil, Administrative
Pastor, at 303-985-4000 x50 or .
