Bible Reading Plans
Introduction
Testament: Synonymous with the word "covenant", which describes an agreement with great significance and depth. The Old Testament and New Testament bring us into understanding of the Covenants God had with His people before Jesus came (Old Covenant) and the way that those Covenants were revealed in new light. Jesus' arrival brings fulfilment to some of the expectations and rules that people had to deal with before His arrival.

As you read through these Bible Reading Plans we encourage you to ask the unusual questions and learn more about who God is and what our relationship with Him is. Some of the things you read may take you by surprise, but this will be an opportunity for you to discover the one who created you and gave your life purpose.

New Testament one-year reading plan
The New Testament plan was set up so that you can read through the New Testament (books written from Jesus' birth through the next few centuries) in one year. The easiest way to keep on track would be to start on the date that corresponds with when you start reading, and a year from now you should have the New Testament read.
Old Testament two-year reading plan
Bear Valley Church The Old Testament Reading Plan guides you not in the order of the books as they are located in the Old Testament but rather in chronological order. This allows you to read through the two-year plan more in a story style. Some events are documented in multiple books, so you will be jumping from book to book as needed to stay in chronological order.

We recommend that you read through the New Testament reading plan first. This will help you appreciate and understand how the history of the Old Testament foreshadows Jesus' coming and how His coming frees us from the "Old Law".
